About Ash Apiaries

Ash Apiaries Ltd. is a family-operated honey producer and processor in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba, about four hours northwest of Winnipeg.
 

The business was founded in 1972 by Floyd and Peggy Ash, and is now operated by Peggy, Floyd and their three sons: Brent, Grant and Bryan.
 

Starting with 200 bee colonies in 1972, the apiary has steadily grown to more than 12,000 colonies today, which thrive and produce high quality honey from the crops grown on the fertile rolling hills of Western Manitoba's Heart of the Parkland.
 

In 1989, Ash Apiaries Ltd. expanded and started producing Sunshine Valley natural creamed honey. Creamed honey is 100% pure Canadian honey in a unique format. Our liquid honey is "seeded" with ultra-fine grind granulated canola honey to produce a creamed honey that is pearly-white in colour, spreads like firm butter, and is mild tasting.
 

Ash Apiaries Ltd. continues to process its own brand of Sunshine Valley creamed, liquid, raw honey, and also makes flavoured creamed honey using only 100% pure Canadian honey.
 

The modern processing and packaging plant also provides custom packaging of liquid and creamed honey for retail, wholesale, industrial and private label customers.
 

We can package it in tubs of all sizes, squeeze bottles for liquids, and glass containers of all sizes including small gift or sample sizes.

Ash Apiaries Ltd. is inspected and registered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Our commitment to quality and food safety is emphasized through involvement in the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) system and enhanced by our SQF Code Level 3 certification. The SQF (Safe Quality Food) program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
 

In addition to the food safety and quality controls provided through our SQF Certification, Ash Apiaries Ltd. is True Source Certified. True Source Certified is a traceability audit conducted by a third party designed to ensure honey is sourced ethically, thereby retaining the global reputation of honey products.
 

Ash Apiaries products are certified under the Kosher Endorsement of the Orthodox Union of New York and bear the symbol.
